Our Vision
AS PART OF OUR CITY LIFE MODEL, OUR JUSTICE-FOCUSED MINISTRIES SEEK TO INSPIRE HOPE AND BRING RESTORATION TO JUSTICE-INVOLVED YOUTH AND THE JUSTICE SYSTEM THROUGH BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS AND PROVIDING NEW LIFE OPPORTUNITIES.
Our Approach
Focus on Relationships
City Life’s justice-focused ministries team establishes Christ-centered, mentoring relationships with youth both in preventative and rehabilitative ways. Mentors come alongside youth during their time incarcerated to build relationships in order to show them their identity, freedom, value, and purpose in Christ and to equip them for new life beyond incarceration. At our preventative program, mentors engage youth and empower them spiritually, socially, and emotionally. Healing relationships are sought between police and youth through sports and intentional conversations.
Our Programs & Activities
K-PLAY: In partnership with the Kiwanis Club of Rockford, K-PLAY is centered on healing relationships between youth and law enforcement through playing together and having intentional conversations addressing the perceptions and experiences between them. This program incorporates recreational sports, crafts, a family meal, and a speaker or a message into programming.
